Teacher Carmela is a practicing pediatric educator for sixteen years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology (BSSP) degree from the University of the Philippines Manila - College of Allied Medical Professions in 2007, and further pursued a Master's degree from the University of the Philippines Diliman - College of Home Economics, for Family Life and Child Development.
Her early professional years were devoted to serving in-need individuals through institutions such as Helping Hands Therapy Center in Batangas, Independent Living and Learning Center (ILLC) in Mandaluyong, and Makati Medical Center.
Currently, she is the Center Director and Chief speech-language pathologist of Early Start Therapy Center, located in Tanauan and Lipa City, Batangas. She is also currently a Clinical Supervisor in EST Tanauan for De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute SLP Interns.
Her passion to provide services to the underprivileged can be seen through her active participation in providing free therapy sessions, assessments and home programs through linkages with LGUs and civic organizations such as Rotary Club of Lipa and JCI Lipa.
Outside of the classroom, Teacher Carmela is a loving wife to her husband, Daryl, and a devoted mother to four amazing children, one of whom is a beautiful three year old boy with Down Syndrome.
